It was a dream come true for some 30 children from the Rainbow of Love School as they spent the day role-playing to their hearts’ content at KidZania Kuala Lumpur.
Aged between 9 and 16, the children were thrilled as they got a chance to try out various real world professions at KidZania; from being a firefighter, medical professional, policeman or cabin crew, to more new-age careers like animators, robotics engineers and trendy F&B operators including having a go at making the popular bubble tea drink.
Parked under the banner of Human Aid Selangor Society, the Rainbow of Love School is a sanctuary for asylum seekers and refugee children living in Malaysia.
It is one of the few places where these children can get an education in this country.
To empower these underserved children and in a bid to broaden their horizons, Suu Balm and KidZania Kuala Lumpur hosted the children for a day of enriching hands-on learning.
During the outing, the children were also taught at Suu Balm’s establishment in KidZania Kuala Lumpur on how to care for their skin.
They had the option of becoming a junior skin expert or being a customer receiving a facial treatment.
“It was a heartwarming sight to see the children having so much fun,” said Philip Whittaker, CEO of Sim Leisure Group which operates KidZania Kuala Lumpur.
“Their eyes lit up while engaging in all the activities here.
“At KidZania, we are nurturing young minds to take on the world and we believe that one of the best ways to teach a child valuable lessons and important life skills is through play.
“Learning through hands-on play is one of the fastest and most effective ways to engage children of all ages,” he added.
